Tamarack Resort is proud to have a partnership with Gateway Parks in the winter of 2018/19.  Tamarack and Gateway want to make snow sports accessible to anyone interested in learning to ski or ride.  With this in mind, Tamarack is offering complimentary lessons starting the first Thursday after Gateway opens its facility for the 2018/19 winter season.  This program is open to any first-time skier or snowboarder age 13 or older.  Tamarack Resort will be providing snow sports instruction to small groups limited to 30 participants per session.   Sessions will be held for four weeks.  The session will run two hours, starting promptly at 6pm.  All participants will need to make reservations online through Tamarack Resort’s website.

A ticket to Gateway Parks is included and Play It Again Sports will provide complimentary rentals.  Those rentals can be picked up by giving your name and showing your lesson reservation confirmation:

Upon completion of a lesson session at Gateway, participants will receive an offer to visit Tamarack Resort.  Each participant will receive an equipment rental, all mountain ticket and a lesson for just $49.

Who Is This For:

The Gateway To Tamarack is geared toward people who have never skied or snowboarded, but who have always wanted to.   And, this is for people ages 13 and older.  We want to invite people into the sport who have never had a chance before.

This program is not geared for people who have skied or snowboarded in the past.  It’s not meant to be a refresher lesson for people who want to improve their skills.  This is truly a program for someone who has never been on the snow.

Who Is This Not For:

The Gateway To Tamarack is not for people ages 12 and younger.  Why?  The State of Idaho has many programs for children 12 and younger to learn how to ski.  School groups, church groups and the Ski Idaho 5th and 6th Grade Passport are all ways children have a chance to learn.  Additionally, Tamarack offers very affordable skiing for children – as low as $5 for an annual season pass.  As a result, this event is focusing on people 13 and older.

Additionally, this isn’t a program for avid skiers who want to try snowboarding (or vice versa).  This event is truly focused on people who have never had a chance to experience skiing or snowboarding.
