U.S. Amateur Championship Local Qualifying

June 23, 2026 | The Osprey Meadows Golf Course

Qualifying for the U.S. Amateur is a multi-stage process that begins with local qualifiers held nationwide. These events typically consist of 18 or 36 holes of stroke play, with only a limited number of top finishers advancing, making them highly competitive.

Golfers who advance move on to sectional qualifiers, which are generally 36-hole stroke play events held on more challenging courses. The competition is stronger at this stage, and only the top players earn spots in the U.S. Amateur Championship. The number of qualifiers from each sectional varies by field size and strength, with some events also open to international players.
