All Mountain Snow Report

Wednesday 2/22/17

The snow just keeps coming, and we love it! We received 5″ of new snow overnight, bringing out 48 hour total to 11″. Winds look to be calmer today, with winds less than 15 mph predicted at the summit. Payette Avalanche Center has the danger rating at CONSIDERABLE on all slopes. The main concern is Wind Slabs, with the winds we have received the last few days be VERY CAREFUL in uncontrolled terrain. Just a reminder there is NO avalanche mitigation work outside of the ski area boundary. Get the Gear, Get the Knowledge before traveling in back country terrain !

Nordic Trails

Last grooming of the Nordic trails was Friday the 17th and the next grooming is scheduled for today, Tuesday the 21st. We have added two loops totaling about a mile and another access point to Discovery BUA units and estate homes. Also groomed behind Design Plaza for snowmobile access to the offices and groomed out to West Mountain road for smooth snowmobile access from the lake.

There is also another connecting loop on the Eagle and Osprey trails at the far end of the system, in addition we connected Discovery and Sugar Loaf to neighborhood trail access. There is no classic track at this time. Go check it out for a awesome price of $9. Stay with Tamarack and get a passport and use it on the Nordic trial to go for free. The best way to access the trails is from the lower patio at the Lodge.

Terrain Parks

Homestead Terrain Park Update: there are now two different lines you can take after the top section. Skier’s left line has a T-box, Battleship, and Wave box. Skiers right line has the Rainbow, A-Frame, and a 20′ Flat bar. The two jumps are open and are at approximately 25′ and 30′.

Upper Homestead is now open with a 20′ jump then you can choose from a mailbox on a spine to the left or go right and hit the 15′ flat box.

We have rebuilt the Discovery Park. You have two lines to choose from: Line 1 is jump  followed by a 25′ Flatbox, Line 2 is a jump followed by a 12′ Flatbar. Come check it out and enjoy!
