Marcy Midnight, ERYT-500

Marcy, founder of Ananda Yoga Space, believes yoga is the practice of embracing the flow of our true self, and affirming that we always have a choice to either reinforce our conditioning or transform, grow and be who we are born to be. Committed to empowering others with her intuitive, authentic teaching, Marcy offers creative vinyasa sequences, mantra, pranayama, focused intention, meditation and spontaneous movement to unite mind, body and spirit. Her vinyasa flow classes integrate breath with movement, form and flow, and strength with deep relaxation. Through intelligent sequences, self-inquiry, and intention setting, she cultivates a strong presence and guides students through a transformational experience in a safe and inclusive atmosphere.

Through years of dedicated yoga practice, she has awakened her intuitive and empathic abilities. This awareness led her ultimately to be her own guide through times of depression and anxiety to self-empowered freedom. She believes the intelligence of the body, wisdom of the heart and focused mind are our best guides to consciously awaken to our highest potential.

Marcy has been practicing yoga since 2001. She spent 300+ hours training and assisting with master yogini, Shiva Rea since 2007 and received 200 hour Prana Flow Certification. She has also studied with Seane Corn and Off The Mat, Into The World. Her teaching is inspired and influenced by many styles of yoga and teachers including Iyengar, Ashtanga, Tantra, vinyasa, Kundalini. Her offerings are deeply rooted with her formal teachers and yoga philosophy, but her inspiration for theme and metaphor in the class setting comes from real life experience
