Tamarack Resort is now accepting applications for Summer 2018 and year-round roles. Below are some of the seasonal positions for which we are hiring.
Director of Food & Beverage
Tamarack Resort is seeking a Director of Food & Beverage to lead our growing culinary program. This is an important position since the resort is working to establish its catering program and anticipates opening 4 to 6 new restaurants in the next 3 years.
Qualified candidates will need to understand all components of a multi-outlet food and beverage operation. This person needs a proven track record of understanding food ordering and costing, reading financial statements, managing people, catering operations, service standards and food safety.
We are an entrepreneurial organization and we require a leader with that same mentality. A qualified candidate will need to be ready to roll up his/her sleeves and work where they are needed. This is director level position does more than “direct”. This person will need to be ready to fill every position from chef to bartender to server to dishwasher when called upon.
In the first 24 months of employment, this person will specifically lead the building of our catering business. Once our salespeople sell a conference or wedding, the Director of Food & Beverage will work with the group leaders and brides on their dining needs. The Director of Food & Beverage along with the Executive Chef, Front of House Manager will work to lead a team to execute these banquets. The goal after 24 months is to build our catering systems to efficiently executed large-scale dining events on a weekly basis.
A qualified candidate needs to show a stable and progressive work history with experience in restaurant start-ups, operating multiple outlets, recruiting employees and the ability to coach and discipline team members. This candidate also needs an eye for detail and must be willing to make changes to any portion of a restaurants food, service or décor to will help elevate our dining experiences.
This position is full-time, year-round with health benefits and paid time off.
Night Security Officer
Tamarack is seeking a Night time Security Officer. This is a Full Time year-around position, which includes Health Insurance Benefits and Paid Time Off. Tamarack’s Security Team provides first class services for the entire Resort. This includes Homeowners, Guests, Employees and Commercial Outlets. If you enjoy a fast paced environment, interacting with people and managing several projects at a time, this position is for you!
Winter Seasonal Roles
Seven Devils restaurant is seeking servers to join our team. This fast-paced, high-volume restaurant is a favorite of our guests. Positions are available for days, nights, mid-week and weekends.
Seven Devils Restaurant is seeking a full-time bartender to work in our vibrant and fast-paced pub. This position will sever wine, beer and mixed drinks to a customer base made up of homeowners and outdoor enthusiasts.
Our lift attendants are truly the “face” of the resort. Our guests and homeowners come to know, and love, our lift attendants! These positions work outside to operate the chairlift and interact closely with our guests. Applicants maintain a safe loading surface, operate the chair, and greet guests as they arrive. These positions earn an hourly wage, plus a season ending bonus of 50 cents for each hour worked during the winter for those who fulfill their season-long position! Of course, ski and ride breaks are available for those who want to get some time on the snow as well!
Line Cook / Prep Cook
Our cooks work in the fast-paced environments of the Canoe Grill, Seven Devils Pub and the new Fern & Feather Restaurant. Our cooks see all aspects of the food & beverage operation, and work with a highly trained head chef. Along with an hourly wage all cooks receive complimentary ski benefits for their family and friends. For those relocating to work at Tamarack Resort, employee housing is available.
The dishwasher position supports both the front-of-house and back-of-house staff to provide clean tableware and kitchen equipment. Our dishwashers must have a fresh attitude, be optimistic and follow the rules of the kitchen. Sanitation is an important job in the kitchen, and for those who perform well, this position can be a first step to a long culinary career. Dishwasher positions are available in both Seven Devils and the new Fern & Feather Restaurant.
Our lodging team is looking for full-time housekeepers to join our team immediately! Our housekeepers work together in groups of 3, and enjoy a lively and social working environment. These teams work throughout the resort in hotel rooms to estate homes – all with the goal of delivering an immaculate lodging experience to every guest who stays with us.
Snow Removal / Parking Attendant
These team members use snowblowers and shovels to remove snow from stairs, walkways and common areas at our base facilities. Additionally, members on this team will assist in trash removal and parking cars on weekends.
Summer Seasonal Roles
Our trail crew will work to reduce brush and undergrowth on our trail system to improve our overall snow surfaces for next winter. These team members will also instrumental in reestablishing the Wildwood Trails in anticipation for the installation of our new chairlift. Members on this team will work in a physically demanding job walking up and down trails using chainsaws and other equipment to cut trees and other vegetation. The work will be quite rewarding as you’ll be making a huge impact on the overall ski experience for the 2019/20 season.
Bike Park Trail Builders
Our trail builders will work on repairing existing trails and building new trails. These employees will also be called upon to load bikes and operate the chairlift during weekends at the bike park.
Our dock hands work at our waterfront cabana during the summer time. These team members help guests with boat and non-motorized watercraft rents on the shores of Lake Cascade.
This person will oversee our grounds during the summer including irrigating and mowing our amphitheater, water plants, painting and doing other projects as assigned. A good candidate will have experience with power tools, have some building maintenance skills, and possess a positive attitude. For a person who is up for a diverse tasks and likes being outside, this is a perfect position.
This person will be responsible for overseeing daily retail operations including sales of apparel and accessories and quick serve F&B outlet Hot Shots. This position will also support ticket and activity sales position. This position will also be responsible for developing and creating merchandising displays and helping to guide the season purchases of inventory. Ideal candidate will have extensive retail sales background, a creative flair with a deep understanding of the outdoor retail industry as well as experience as a barista. This position is seasonal year around with a break during the shoulder seasons (Mid-April-Mid May, Mid-September-early November). Weekend and holiday work is required.
Mountain Bike Instructor
Tamarack is looking to expand our highly successful winter sports school programs into summer by offering mountain bike instruction. Instructor can expect to teach riders of all abilities with a focus on lift served MTB skills. Lesson structure may be in a group or private format with riders of all ages and abilities. Must be PMBIA or BICP (or equivalent) certified L1 or higher instructor. This is a part time commission based position that will require availability on weekends and holidays Memorial weekend through middle of September.
