Tamarack Resort is now accepting applications for the Winter 2017/18 season. Below are some of the seasonal positions for which we are hiring.
Winter Seasonal Roles
Tamarack is looking for an estabilished chef or an up-and-comer looking to take their career to the next level. As the Head Chef, you’ll manage the kitchens of Seven Devils and Canoe Grill. You’ll order supplies and build menus for Seven Devils and Canoe Grill, plus our new mid-mountain dining concept and Hot Shots Coffee café. You will also do small catering events for homeowner events and specialty groups. Additionally, you will manage cooks and dishwashers in high-volume and fast-paced kitchens. You’ll work with budgets, inventory, and labor management. You will use the tools and development provided by Tamarack Resort to grow sales and increase profits while you grow and develop both personally and professionally. This position is full-time, year-round and includes benefits of health care and paid time off.
This key member of our kitchen team will help be a leader in the kitchen and support the overall success of Seven Devils restaurant. Good candidates will have at least 2 years kitchen experience and the ability to work in a face-paced, high-volume restaurant.
Work in a fast-paced environment and learn the restaurant business under our experienced chefs.
Tamarack Lodging Company is looking for a porter to join our team. This person will be performing security checks on homes, changing lightbulbs, checking Wi-Fi connections, and changing batteries in remotes. In addition to assisting housekeeping with running bins, trash, firewood, and delivering guest supplies. During slow times this position will assist with snow shoveling as needed around the resort.
Perform accounting and clerical functions to support the Controller. Record business transactions and key daily worksheets to the accounting system. Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable, along with recording daily visitation and other business metrics. This position offers up to 32 hours per week.
Our winter lift operators run the Tamarack Express and become the faces of the resort. These employees interact with guests while operating our chairlifts in a fun, outdoor environment.
Mechanical knowledge and skills relevant to chair lifts is required. The ability to perform all job duties safely while working at significant heights in all-weather conditions is required. Job duties include daily pre operations checks and routine maintenance as needed on all ski lifts according to industry and manufacture recommendations. Must be at least 18 and have a valid driver’s license.
The Retail Supervisor will generate revenues for Tamarack through sales of softgoods and accessories as well as items at Hot Shots Coffee Shop. They will sell food and beverage, softgoods and accessories to the public to assist with their sporting good, sportswear and food and beverage needs in order to make their overall experience positive. Work with Director of Base Ops to maintain sufficient inventory, place orders, and work with sales reps for future inventory purchases. Responsible for merchandising and displays while monitoring sales trends. The Retail Supervisor must be outgoing and willing to interact with the guests. This person will oversee other Retail Associates, including baristas. Will support all sports dome departments including sports school, rentals and ticket sales. Applicants should have a strong retail sales and administrative background, familiarity with inventory control, strong computer skills and a passion for fashion and outdoor recreation.
Our bootfitters fit guests with appropriate rental boots. No experience necessary – just need the willingness to learn and interact with guests.
Canoe Grill Supervisor
This supervisor will oversee the Canoe Grill which is a fast-paced and high-volume cafeteria. This position will lead the cashiers, bartender and bussers to ensure a great environment for guests to eat and relax.
Snow Removal and Parking Team Member
Remove snow and ice from around all walkways, patios, and steps at designated structures. Place ski racks on snow front each morning and shovel decks at Mid Mountain and transformers. Clean parking lots and patio’s of trash and empty trash cans daily. Place and remove parking cones as directed daily. Clear propane ports as needed. Stack chairs and tables on patios before storms.
Residential Snow Removal Crew
As a residential snow removal team member, you will be responsible for removing snow and ice from residential roofs, walkways, patios and hot tubs at Tamarack Resort. We use snow blowers, shovels and a variety of other tools to remove the snow. We typically start early in the morning and finish in time to get out on the mountain and enjoy the powder! Tune Shop Tech
Our tune show techs repair and maintain rental fleet and guest equipment. Plus, they adjust rental equipment to manufacturer specs, and handle guest and customer requests with efficiency and a good tamitude. A strong knowledge of equipment and tuning practices is a plus, but not required – we can teach you everything you need to know!
The Wildhorse Manager will be responsible and accountable for the daily operations of the Child Care areas. This person will meet or exceed established standards for members, guests and employee satisfaction. They will strive to provide a safe, clean and enjoyable working environment for the Child Care staff, assuring peak performance from all team members while guaranteeing the most enjoyment for our guests and homeowners.
Child Care Provider
The Child Care Provider position will be taking on the tasks of the day-to-day care of the children enrolled in Wildhorse Children’s Center and is supported by the rest of the child care staff. They will offer exceptional care to youth and superior customer service to members and their children.
Wait Staff – Seven Devils Restaurant
This applicant will accurately take and deliver drink and menu orders, explain daily specials, and ensure the satisfaction of the guest from greeting to payment. Duties include, greeting customers, making sure patron meets age requirement for alcohol consumption, upselling menu, money handling, and maintaining a positive attitude.
Busser – Seven Devils Restaurant
This position supports the waitstaff by clearing dishes, rolling silverware and filling water glasses. A busser improves the guest experience by allowing the waitstaff to focus on speedy service. This position is great for young people interested in attaining a job in food service. This position would be full-time through the December holidays then work on an as-needed basis for the remainder of the winter.
We are looking for team members that will contribute to building a positive team spirit and is able to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness. The ideal candidate will be organized, work efficiently, and able to take direction. Must be dependable and reliable. Pay is dependent upon experience. Full-time, part-time, holiday and weeekend positions available.
Our housekeeping team is looking for a laundry attendant. This position ensures that we have an adequate supply of linens to meet our daily requirement. Washing, stain treatment, drying, folding, stacking and delivery of the linens are the key components of this job. Full-time and part-time positions available for afternoons and evenings.
Front Desk Agent
If you enjoy a fast paced environment and have a high energy dynamic personality, then our Front Desk Agent position is for you. Candidates must strive to be the model of teamwork and excellence in customer service. Candidates must be able to multi-task and complete duties in a timely fashion. A great candidate will have knowledge of Microsoft’s suite of software (Excel, Word, Outlook) and have the ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.
Ski and Snowboard Instructors
Our instructors provide coach our customers to become better skier and riders, and experience the joy of winter sports. A Ski or Ride instructor will show enthusiasm for skiing/ snowboarding and will enjoy educating all ages and ability levels. Never taught skiing and riding? No problem. As long as you love the sports and ski/ride at an intermediate level, we will teach you everything you need to know to become an instructor.
Rental Shop Tech
These team members repair and maintain our ski and snowboard rental fleet. Our managers will work with you to lean how to adjust rental equipment for the needs of individual customers. This is a fun and face-paced position for people of any age and experience.
You will be responsible for cleaning all restaurant wares, while learning how to prepare food items according to standard recipes with supervision, while maintaining an organized and clean work station.
Our cashier positions are available on weekends and holidays. These team members take money and make change for our guests eating at Canoe Grill in a fun and face-paced restaurant. These team members will also help remove dishes and clean tables when necessary.
