For the First Time since 2009, Wildwood Will Be Open to the Public

DONNELLY, ID (December 18, 2015) – Tamarack Resort is pleased to announce that the Wildwood Trail System will re-open on Saturday, December 19 for the first time since 2009. Skiers and riders will now have the ability to make a quick hike to this incredible area of in-bounds terrain, located at the northern most section of the resort’s boundaries.

The Wildwood Trail System is 100 acres of mostly untouched terrain has been a long time favorite of skiers and snowboarders. This terrain was closed in the spring of 2009 after the removal of the Wildwood chairlift.  When Replay Resorts took the reins at Tamarack in October 2014, the team noted the demand and saw the potential in reopening this trail system to the public.

“Our guests will be able to earn their turns in the upper portion of the Wildwood pod with the ability to ski back to our established lift network all without leaving the security of our patrolled ski area boundary,” said Brad Larsen, General Manager at Tamarack Resort in a video from the Capital Improvement series.

The Wildwood terrain is accessible via a 5 minute hike from the top of the Enigma trail. Once skiers and riders have taken their turns down this terrain, there will be a groomed egress that will easily lead guests back to the Waltz trail, which then leads back to the base area.

Tamarack Resort is now open 7 days a week from 9 A.M. to 4 P.M. for the winter season.  For more information on Tamarack Resort, please visit TamarackIDAHO.com.
