Tamarack Resort is pleased to announce our continued partnership with Gateway Parks and Play it Again Sports with the Gateway to Tamarack Program. This program is designed for people ages 13+ who are new to the sports.
The Gateway to Tamarack Program was a massive success for the last season. Our partnership with Gateway Terrain Park and Tubing Area and Play It Again Sports sold out each event. After their first lesson at Gateway, over 30% of those participants continued their snow sports experience with us up at Tamarack Resort. This almost doubled the national average at 15% for first-timer return rates.
This Season For $30 Participants Will Receive:
- 1.5 hour Wednesday evening introductory group lesson package at Gateway Park including ticket, and rental equipment provided by Play It Again Sports. (Value: $150)
- (2) 1 hour early bird private lesson packages at Tamarack including full day lift ticket and full day equipment rental upon completion of Gateway lesson. (Value: $340)
For every participant Tamarack will donate $10 to The Payette Lakes Ski Club after school program for youth scholarships. The after school program gives local youth affordable after school access to winter sports including transportation and instruction at the famous Little Ski Hill in McCall, Idaho.
Tamarack is offering lessons starting the first Wednesday in January at the Gateway Park facility in Eagle Island State Park for the 2019/2020 winter season. Tamarack Resort will be providing snow sports instruction to small groups limited to 60 participants per session.

Who Is This For:
The Gateway To Tamarack is geared toward people who have never skied or snowboarded, but who have always wanted to. And, this is for people ages 13 and older. We want to invite people into the sport who have never had a chance before.
This program is not geared for people who have skied or snowboarded in the past. It’s not meant to be a refresher lesson for people who want to improve their skills. This is truly a program for someone who has never been on the snow.
Who Is This Not For:
The Gateway To Tamarack is not for people ages 12 and younger. Why? The State of Idaho has many programs for children 12 and younger to learn how to ski. School groups, church groups and the Ski Idaho 5th and 6th Grade Passport are all ways children have a chance to learn. Additionally, Tamarack offers very affordable skiing for children – as low as $5 for an annual season pass. As a result, this event is focusing on people 13 and older.
Additionally, this isn’t a program for avid skiers who want to try snowboarding (or vice versa). This event is truly focused on people who have never had a chance to experience skiing or snowboarding.
